Sculptra®
Sculptra® is an injectable implant containing microparticles of poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic polymer. Rather than filling a hollow directly, it promotes your own collagen and elastin production, so the change is gradual. Our aesthetic nurse injectors customize every Sculptra® treatment at Mafi Plastic Surgery in Fresno, California.

Aesthetic?
Sculptra® is an injectable implant that contains microparticles of poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic polymer from the alpha hydroxy acid family.
What it does is promote collagen and elastin production, which current studies reflect continuing for over two years. That production is what leads to an overall youthful glow and a volumization of the skin, while diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles both at rest and during dynamic movement.
This is a treatment that works gradually, yielding its results over time rather than delivering them the day you leave. It is often referred to as the injectable treatment to “age you in reverse.”
That pace is what separates Sculptra® from a soft tissue filler. Filler restores volume the moment it is placed, by adding it. Sculptra® prompts your own tissue to produce the collagen and elastin instead, so what changes is something your body built.
At Mafi Plastic Surgery, our two aesthetic nurse injectors offer Sculptra® injectable treatments, customizing each one to provide your best result.
Sculptra® is not volume placed into the face. It promotes your own production of collagen and elastin, and that production is what changes how the skin looks.
Current studies reflect collagen and elastin production continuing for over two years after treatment.
The change arrives over time rather than on the day of your appointment, which is why Sculptra® is described as the injectable that ages you in reverse.
The collagen and elastin Sculptra® promotes diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles both at rest and during dynamic movement.

Am I a candidate for Sculptra®?
Not volume placed in your face, but collagen your body builds.
Sculptra® is the slowest of the three injectables offered here, and whether it suits what you want changed is settled in person rather than from a page. Sculptra® may be right for you if you’re looking for:
Volumization of the Skin
Fullness restored through your own collagen and elastin rather than by placing volume.
Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Lines that show both at rest and during expression, diminished as collagen builds.
An Overall Youthful Glow
The change collagen and elastin production makes to the skin as a whole, not to one area.
A Gradual Change
You would rather the difference arrive quietly over time than appear in a single day.
Something That Keeps Building
Current studies reflect collagen and elastin production continuing for over two years.
