Microneedling

Microneedling is a treatment that uses tiny needles to create small, controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This encourages your skin to naturally produce collagen, helping improve fine lines, acne scars, uneven texture, enlarged pores, and skin tone. The result is smoother, firmer, healthier-looking skin. Our aesthetic nurse injectors perform it in Fresno, California, with or without platelet-rich plasma.

The needles do the same work either way. What goes in behind them is the choice.

Both treatments begin the same: a device passed over the skin, opening microscopic channels that set off collagen and elastin. Standard microneedling stops there. Adding platelet-rich plasma from your own blood puts growth factors into those channels while they are open, and that same plasma can be placed in the tear trough.

Your Med Spa Experience at
Mafi Plastic Surgery

The first visit is an assessment and a conversation: what you see in the mirror, what you have already tried, and what you want your skin to do. Microneedling is safe for all skin types, so the question is usually less about whether it suits you and more about what you are treating. Our two aesthetic nurse injectors perform microneedling here, with or without PRP, and one of them is the person who examines you.

Each treatment is customized to your skin and your goals. Microneedling on its own is used for fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, large pores and uneven texture. PRP is added when a stronger response is the aim: it is particularly effective for acne scars, sun damage and other signs of aging, and it can be injected into the tear trough to work on dark circles under the eye.

Redness and mild swelling are normal for a day or two. The change you came for arrives later, as texture and tone improve over several weeks with collagen production, so the result is judged at a follow-up rather than in the mirror on your way out. The channels also help serums and skin care absorb, which is why what you use at home is planned as part of the treatment, not left to chance.

Microneedling sits inside a fuller med spa: injectables, medical-grade facials and peels, and physician-selected skin care from ZO Skin Health and Alastin. Seeing the same team each visit means your plan can be adjusted against what your skin actually did, instead of restarted from scratch. And if the conversation ever turns surgical, Dr. Parham Mafi practices under the same roof.

Common questions about microneedling

There is no single price. What you pay depends on whether PRP is part of the treatment and on what your skin needs, so you are quoted after your injector has looked at you. Mafi Plastic Surgery works with CareCredit, Cherry and PatientFi, so the cost can be spread over monthly payments, and our team is happy to help you apply.
