Soft Tissue Fillers

Soft tissue fillers, also called dermal fillers, are injectable treatments that restore lost volume, smooth the appearance of wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. Most are made with hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in your body that helps keep your skin hydrated and plump. Our aesthetic nurse injectors place filler at Mafi Plastic Surgery in Fresno, California.

What are Soft
Tissue Fillers?

Soft tissue fillers, also known as dermal fillers, are injectable treatments used to restore lost volume, smooth the appearance of wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. They are made from different materials, with hyaluronic acid being one of the most common. Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found in the body that helps keep skin hydrated and plump. At Mafi Plastic Surgery, we most commonly use hyaluronic acid fillers because we trust their quality and ability to create natural-looking results.

As we age, we naturally lose volume and elasticity, which can lead to wrinkles, sagging, and hollow areas. Fillers can restore volume to specific areas of the face, including the lips, cheeks, smile lines, chin, and jawline, helping create a more balanced and refreshed appearance.

Results can be seen immediately, although some swelling may be present at first. Depending on the type of filler used and the area treated, results can last six months to two years or longer. Because your body gradually absorbs the filler over time, maintenance treatments can help preserve your results.

At Mafi Plastic Surgery, our aesthetic nurse injectors focus on natural, balanced results, using fillers to enhance your individual features while keeping you looking like yourself.

Filler results are visible right away. The volume is added during your appointment, so you can see the change as soon as you leave. Some swelling may be present initially and typically improves within a few days.

How long filler lasts depends on the type of filler used and the area treated. Your body naturally absorbs the filler over time, so maintenance treatments can help preserve your results.

One of the most common filler materials, hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found in the body that helps keep the skin hydrated and plump.

Filler can enhance the lips, restore fullness to the cheeks, soften smile lines, and add definition to the jawline and chin, among other areas.

Am I a candidate for soft tissue fillers?

Volume goes quietly. Filler puts it back.

As we age, we naturally lose volume in different areas of the face. Soft tissue fillers can restore that volume, enhance facial features, and create a more balanced, refreshed appearance. Fillers may be right for you if you’re looking to:

Enhance the Lips

You would like fuller lips or want to restore volume that has been lost over time.

Restore Cheek Fullness

Your cheeks have become flatter or more hollow as volume has decreased.

Soften Smile Lines

You would like to soften the appearance of the lines that run from the nose toward the corners of the mouth.

Define the Jawline

You want more definition and contour along your jawline.

Enhance the Chin

You would like to add subtle definition or improve balance between your chin and other facial features.

Restore Hollow Areas

You have areas of the face that appear hollow or sunken due to natural volume loss.
